WE LIVE IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK. Joe is a native New Yorker and Carrie moved to New York from her hometown of Charleston, SC in 2004. We met in 2008 and married 3 years later. Tonka has been part of our family almost from the beginning. CARRIE WORKS IN HUMAN RESOURCES FOR A CONSULTING FIRM WHILE JOE OVERSEES FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING AT AN ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY.

We are lucky that we both love our jobs – not only because we love the work we do, but because they enable us to have a healthy balance between our professional and personal lives. Carrie is a total bookworm, but also loves music, dancing, and cooking. Joe is all about sports – watching them, playing them, and reading about them. He also loves grilling and video games. Together, we love to travel, try new restaurants, and spend time with family, and you can’t beat a good game night with friends!

SINCE THE EARLY DAYS OF OUR RELATIONSHIP, WE PLANNED TO BECOME PARENTS AND ADOPTION WAS ALWAYS A PART OF THAT PLAN. We believe every adoption scenario is unique and we are open to many possibilities.
