THE PEOPLE WE LOVE

WE BOTH COME FROM LARGE EXTENDED FAMILIES AND WE REMAIN CLOSE TO THEM. Most of Joe’s family is close by, so we see them regularly. His mom and stepdad love to meet us in the city and try a new restaurant. His siblings each have young daughters, so we get to see our nieces often.

MOST OF CARRIE’S FAMILY IS IN CHARLESTON AND WE VISIT A FEW TIMES A YEAR. We love staying with her sister and our brother-in-law, and especially spending time with our niece and nephew. Charleston is on the coast so when we visit we spend a lot of time at the beach and on the boat. Carrie’s family has a large property on one of the islands, and there’s nothing better than spending a day “in the country”– whether that’s swimming in the creek, cooking up something delicious with her grandmother, or taking the boat out. Of course, there is always time dedicated to fishing, shrimping, and checking the crab traps.
